Job Description

Summary

The primary responsibilities of a Sales Support Specialist will be to assist Sales Representatives with customer inquiries, order entry and account maintenance, which will include outbound calling to existing clients. The SSS will play an intricate role in building relationships with both internal and external customers. They will also ensure that all DHPI customers are serviced in a timely, professional and thorough manner.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions and percentages.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Vision requirements are associated with the daily use of the computer.

The noise level is that associated with an office environment.

 

Job Requirements

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Answering/transferring inbound calls to appropriate sales rep.

  • Document customer information in System 2000.

  • Receive and process orders.

  • Participation in ongoing product training will be required.

  • Responsible for maintaining existing relationships with current customers along with prospective customers.

  • Track customer’s packages and free goods. In addition will be responsible for keeping customers current on their back orders.

  • Filing duties to maintain customer files & folders.

  • Enter new prospects/customers in the computer system.

  • Creating documents such as letters, quotes (work with rep on pricing and cross referencing products).

  • Prepare documentation on return products (call tags).

  • In the absence of Sales Representatives, Sales Support Specialists will be responsible for calling on Sales Representatives activities from System 2000.

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

  • Drop Shipments

  • Vendor returns

  • File damaged/lost claims with appropriate carrier.

  • All other duties as assigned.
